The Digital Hallway
21st Century Barometer Exhibition
I was the lead designer of the exhibition for the end of 3rd year Interactive Design Degree show. In delivering the project I interacted with the other exhibitors in order to understand their projects and devise an umbrella theme to tie these together. Following my research I designed an exhibition space with a 'homely feeling'.
This provided me with a basis for creating an exhibition that mimicked the home without detracting from the exhibits. Adding wallpaper to the exhibition stands allowed for separation of the projects into Digital Interaction Design and Product Design courses whilst maintaining the household theme. ‘Family’ photographs of the project groups were added to enhance each display. Changing the lighting to warm bulbs and adding lamp shades gave the space a more homely ambience. The entrance space was designed as a door with an associated monitor which displayed video output allocated to keys/key fobs for each project. When the keys were placed in the lock the monitor would began to display each of the exhibitors project videos.
The bar area was also themed as a family garden with benches, plants, outdoor lighting and barbecue.
My original designs for this exhibition where more detailed however due to funding restrictions the designs were revised.
Have a look and see for yourself.
